My family loves giving fun gifts. One year, Jared got a little catapult for Christmas. He had a lot of fun tinkering with it and using it, and you could tell that he was figuring out how to build one. A couple of months later, he talked his friend (and future brother-in-law) Nathan Humbert in to building a larger model. They bought some lumber and built it in our garage. After finishing building it, we loaded up the catapult to take it the Blues to test it out.
I believe that my parents were visiting, so we all headed out to see how the catapult worked. It seemed to work very well, and the guys had a lot of fun seeing how tight they could crank the rope and how far they could launch things. Jared tinkered with the catapult a bit more when we brought it back home, but I don’t remember using it again. It is still sitting next to our shed, and I smile at the memory when I see it!

Yeah, I remember that! The thing actually worked. I remember Charity & Henry being there, too, and their dog Chip trying to fetch everything Jared launched. It was a fun day.
