I remember Jared as my brother’s friend. He was the silent ( sometimes not so silent) voice of reason for all their adventures. How they never got in trouble at UCA, I’ll never know! I still remember them shooting fireworks out the dorm window….

I knew Jared when he was in the 8th grade I was in the 7th. I only knew him that school year and I never saw him again. Once in class during lunch we were playing a game of checkers and someone said something or did something that made Jared laugh real hard he had a mouthful of sandwich and when he laughed the contents of his sandwich sprayed over myself and the checker board that of course made him laugh even harder which caused the remainder of any food in his mouth to spray the checker board. I remember the rest of that year no one played checkers again because no one cleaned up the board. Jared was a good kid from what I can remember. We’d share chuckles in art class and gym. He hung out with different people than I did. I remember once after art class someone shoved Jared and he hurt his thumb I don’t know why and never really asked him but he got mad and we had a little school yard fight. I’m not going to say who won or who lost but the next day we were a lot closer. I meant to stay in contact but life happened and today I found out about the loss of Jared. I want people to know from what I knew of Jared he was a great kid and I’m glad I got to know him even if it were a short time.
